This is a mutation of Mob Wives, Toddlers in Tiaras, Real housewives of The (insert town here) and Dance Life. (I know, how can all of those shows possibly relate??? but they do ) I'm addicted! This could easily become my new favorite reality show. Showcasing about 7, 4-12 year old girls who competitively dance with Abby Lee Dance Company under the instruction of none other than Abby Lee Miller herself.
Highlights so far:
- E.1: We are introduced to these adorable little dancers and their mothers. Right off the bat we have "The Star" Maddie...This little girl can dance circles around most adult professional dancers. However the amount of pressure placed on her is just plain unthinkable. (she's likely to be on anti anxiety meds by age 15) She goes to class sick and you can see it all over her face she's about to projectile vomit all over the studio, but is told by her mother to "deal".
- E.1: Abby throws a student out of class due to not wearing appropriate clothing for her Acro Class (Acrobatics)...the mother of the student storms in on Instructor Abby as she's teaching a class then proceeds to chase and scream at Abby like a Valaseraptor let loose in Jurrasic Park. The irate mother (practically foaming at the mouth) then gets up in Abby's face (told you this gets Mob Hood) and forces Abby to retreat to a warm up classroom where she calls the cops. We later find out this mother is a Pastor.
- E.1: The girls go to their first competition of the season. While the girls get ready and dressed, two of the "Dance Moms" retreat to the hotel bar only to be "caught" by Abby and scolded for their inappropriate behavior....the Dance Moms "double fist it" like it's Fat Tuesday and scurry down in time to watch their daughters compete.
- E.2: Chloe (The One THE STAR, Maddie casts her shadow on) Spends her whole day from sun up to sun down at the studio for her solo. When she attempts to leave to go home to do homework and eat dinner (GOD forbid school or proper nutrition gets in the way of dance) she is scolded by Abby for crying and wanting to leave. Abby then points out that Maddie is STILL in the other room dancing and will not be going home until later....hint hint Chole...get on your game
- E.2 : The girls compete with a new "Hot" number (Electricity) in new "Hot" lingerie-like uniforms.... In Amish Country...One mom dubs the girls "Prosta-Tots"...The girls don't place Top 5 (however completely and clearly being the best dancers there) The mothers rightfully blame it on the appropriateness of the uniforms and dance routine...and everyone goes home to dance for another 40 hrs a week.
