Real Housewife of Beverly Hills Husband Dies

So EVERYONE, and I mean EVERYONE is talking about Taylor Armstrong's husband committing suicide this past Monday evening....and all anyone can do is shake their head.
How sad is this>!? I happened to have been checking out Huffington Post and read the details...and as an avid watcher of his show I was flabbergasted!
It brings up a great question: When do the TV shows we watch become a reflection of what we are as humans?!...Here you have these women, who go on this show...fame follows and then what happens??? divorces, failed friendships, financial hardships, substance abuse, damaged reputations...a few physical altercations...and now even a death. It kind of makes everyone take a step back and say....wow, these are REAL PEOPLE...with real lives and  real feelings....JUST LIKE US.  I'm the first to poke a joke at someones obnoxious traits or make fun of someones temper tantrum..but goodness...after Taylor's husbands death...I feel like I'm guilty of watching LIVE train collisions with multiple fatalities...for "entertainment"....Think abut it. This man must have been going through so much pain to do something like this....and what do we have left of him, but some 30 second footage of him giving a speech at his (now) ex wife's birthday party.
These "characters" are human....with real life heart ache and real life problems. Maybe it's a lesson in how "heart broken" we as humans  have become. We watch these shows, because the drama is entertaining...It's OUR drama...televised. We watch, because the people on TV are REAL and have worse problems...We feel better when someone "acts out" because it makes us feel justified when WE "act out"...We don't feel so bad when we've "stepped out of line"...because people "step out of line all the time on TV"...We relate...We feel their anger when they're mad at their best friend. We feel their hurt when they find themselves being miss treated...and we justify it all as...THIS IS HOW IT GOES, EVEN for those rich beautiful housewifes in Beverly Hills...They're NOT perfect, so it's okay that I'm not perfect.
Is it kind of  sad that we no longer prefer for family problems to get solved by the end of the episode like on Full House or Family Matters. (We would never see Stephanie Tanner flip a table a Kimmie Gibbler)...We want to see it go as far as it can go, because we say to ourselves: "They took that argument WAY further than any argument I've ever had with my sibling"...."I couldn't possibly see myself act  like THAT women did after a few cocktails"  or "I would never say what that housewife said to the other...I'm far more composed...aren't I?"...
The world....IS what it IS today...broken...and kind of the worst reality TV show ever...and we are the cast. At what point do we decide to "cancel" our own show...strip off the microphones...and turn off the cameras? Can we all take a second to BE a little bit happy? We are all so busy with THE SHOW....We are THAT uncontrolled, that undignified, that irrational, unpredictable...we eat too much, spend too much, fight too much, get too lazy, get too self absorbed...because we are PEOPLE. It's normal, agreed...but why CANT we solve the problem by the end of the episode? Lets get to the dinner party just a little late with our hair a little bit messed up, not wearing the most flattering dress..and feel comfortable sitting next to the woman that pissed us off at the grocery store. We are ALL the same (as messed up as everyone else)...maybe if everyone took a second to try to understand that...We wouldn't be so glued to that reality TV show....Maybe we could care just a little bit more when we notice someone is "down"...or take the time to encourage each others "ups!"  Lets shake off some of each other's stress and strife. Life is all about Ups and Downs...and televised or not...it might be a good idea to skip a little bit of the dramatics...and maybe....just LIVE....

Obsessed...

WHY EVERYONE is ditching the candle...

...and switching to Scentsy

As women...we can't live without candles....or can we??? Yes, because NOW we have the Ah-Mazeballs Scentsy...a candle/air freshener hybrid!!!! Not only do these things smell 100 times better and stronger than a candle, but they last WAY longer and look way better. These stylish little jars come in various styles, shapes, and colors. I own 2 and have tried every kind of wax filler scents they make...I can honestly say there's not one scent I don't like. My FAVEs: Tea Party and Cucumber Lime.

I asked my Consultant to elaborate on the Super Coolness of these things below: ENJOY

Attn all The Housewife Haven Readers<3
My name is Jennifer Linan, & I am here to tell you ALL ABOUT SCENTSY! Scentsy is the “Hottest New Thing” in candles! These Scentsy flameless, wickless, smokeless candles that burn safe and come is over 80 delicious scents are ALL the rage right now!!!
..The way Scentsy works is, you pick whatever beautiful-hand crafted warmer that you LOVE, plug it in, break up a few pieces of whatever scent you would like into the dish, and ENJOY! The scent emits smell through whatever room or vicinity you have it in within minutes, and lasts for days at a time. You can choose the intensity you like them at by how many bars you place into the dish, and how often.
Whenever you are finished with the scent, simply pour it back into the package it came in while it is melted and wipe the dish down with a paper towel… then break up whatever new scent you would like to start burning! It’s that easy!
Scentsy bars are made from a high-quality paraffin wax blend. The wax is designed for a specific scent load and melt point. The wax melts at a very low heat, and is 100% safe. The warmers can be turned off and on as you like, and are heated by 1 simple light bulb. Scentsy does not use oil in its products.
Scentsy is very affordable with items starting as low as $3 and comes in many different “Combine & Save” packages that enable you to get more for your $$$. There is literally a warmer & scent out there for everyone’s taste and wallet!
…Scentsy also now sells “Scentsy Buddies” which are very high-quality stuffed animals that come with a scent pouch of your choice and are safe for children… Scentsy Perfume, Scent Circles, Scent Tins, Scent Pouches, Plug-in’s, and room sprays! We even donate to a new charity every 6 months! There is literally something for every person out there!
NOW- THE GOOD STUFF…
There are so many incentives to becoming a consultant OR hosting a party! Hosts can earn TONS of FREE product & get deals their buyers can’t!  …and the real joy… YOU DON’T EVEN HAVE TO HOST A PARTY IN YOUR HOME!!! Feel Good...

Brighten Someones Day

We live in a culture of "Do something to get something"...We live in a time where people are down and out, sad and stressed....why not add a little sunshine to someones life..??? how bout a few lives???...you'll find once you do ONE of these challenges you'll want to do more. Do this for a friend, a family member, a perfect stranger....better yet, someone you maybe don't really get along with. See how great YOU feel when doing something nice for someone else.I challenge YOU...yes YOU to do one of these small little "feel good" missions this week. attach a note that reads:

"Now A Days people tend to get blue...BUT today I'm making certain that doesn't include YOU. So here's a gesture to make you smile in hopes you too will go the extra mile." -anonymous

1. Mail (yes, snail mail....stamp n all) someone a $5.00 Starbucks gift card.(c'mon you have NO PROBLEM spending $5.00 on yourself every other morning for your late')  (don't put a return address)

2. Leave a Car Wash coupon or gift certificate on someones windshield (make sure the car doesn't look too dirty or they may take it as an insult)

3. Send a balloon to a co worker or colleague.

4. When going out to dinner, send an appetizer or desert to a family or an elderly couple. (lots of places have coupons for free appetizers online....put them to good use...don't forget to send the note...but remain anonymous)

5. leave fresh flowers on your neighbors door step.

6. Around Thanksgiving and Halloween..leave a pumpkin and or candy at your co worker's desk or your child's teacher's desk

7. When getting something through a drive through pay for the next person in lines order.

8. Send a bottled water and power bar to your child's coach or PE teacher.

9. Buy someone a lotto ticket...

10. Make or buy a card. Mail it to someone.

The Bachelor Pad Season 2

We LUV LUV LUV LUV this show...it's ridiculous I spent 3 HOURS of my Monday night glued to the TV watching. (and while I hang my head in shame for spending THAT much time watching such complete crud) I ate up every minute of it....from Vienna/Kasey's LUV "guarded and protected" LOVE bubble to Jake (THE BACHELOR MISTAKE) and his phony Ned Flanders act! It was like eating a Pazookie at BJ's right after you just finished off the Red Velvet Cheesecake at Cheesecake Factory...You feel bad for doing it (kind of ashamed actually), but you enjoyed every last bit...
...Rated X Rated G Lasted about 20 minutes...went on to play his whole slime ball "act"...and got the boot for trying to be...ahem...sneaky...funny how his time on this show is directly proportionate to his fleeting fame. Yep, your 15 minutes are up! Justin Rigo, you're NOT Bentley... stop trying to "kick puppies" just to get attention.
...Gia was up to her old antics again! The girl is gorgeous...but STILL a box of rocks....a box of dull rocks at that. She continues to frolic around batting her eyes, tossing her finesse hair and wrapping herself up in whatever blanket just happened to be laying around while everyone re-loads their Remington 887 Tactical to take another shot at Bambi. The girl has played the game long enough to know she's ALWAYS on the chopping block!
Michelle Money is actually playing the game quite brilliantly. I totally got all teary eyed when she talked about her dad having cancer and putting money away for her daughters education. Way to turn it around Crazy Eyes. She is no longer creepy...just determined...or was she always just that?!?
Vienna...Vienna Vienna...Drama for your Mama Vienna. I don't even know where to begin with her. All the crying and pouting and manipulation. She's a piece of work....and for those of you who say....she's just HONEST...take a hard look at the TV...what you're seeing is NOT honesty. She'd sell her first born to Amber Portwood (Teen Mom) if it meant she'd get another hour in the limelight. I used to think maybe she was just one of those girls who was always misunderstood....but now I have a perfect understanding...
Then there's Kasey...Vienna's lap dog. When Vienna says bark...he (well you get the picture) I can't help but cringe every time I see this guy. He says one stupid thing after another. "I put on 30 pounds of pure muscle"...?!>? Really? It didn't help. I don't want to hear about his tattoo anymore...and don't wanna hear about how he's going to "guard and protect" his Owner Girlfriend.
Jake was as douche as ever. Giving the rose to Vienna to "make a mends"...PAH-LEAZZEEE. While I believe the story he told Jackie on their 1 on 1 date...I STILL think he's shady. I think he loves the fame...and did love Vienna (Well, Vienna's fake boobs)...I think he's a total attention slizzzy. Here he sold out on Gia all so he could "appear" to be the "good guy". AND it didn't work...She didn't buy it, the people in the house didn't buy it, and neither did we.
Then last we have AMES...oh AMES...how awkward yet totally gentleman you are... I've heard he and Jackie are no longer dating... =)
I get that 50% of the time nobody understands what he's saying or doing, he has like 4 doctorates in subjects like "Moon rock physics" and "International trade ethics"... I know his mother might secretly be a Decepticon...and probably has plans to take over the world....I'm aware his pants are slightly too fitted and his hair dangerously well coiffed....but pllllleeeaaase please please ABC make this guy your next Bachelor! ....He's the FIRST guy who really seems like he deserves a GOOD GIRL....or at least his pick of the bad ones you cast.

Boo ULTA Beauty

When I first started shopping at Ulta I was excited! They had EVERYTHING! ...From the really good expensive stuff to the really good cheap stuff...they were THE BEST...and  when I got my Ulta card I was supper excited! I was getting bejillions of points on top of points! Couldn't wait to put them towards...wait...WHAT do I use these points towards???..Come to find out salon services....hmmmmm, okay, but when it comes to salon services...Im a little apprehensive about going to a store...that's why I go to a Salon, where I have people I have come to trust provide mebeauty services....BUT...I'll give it a try...how bad can they botch a blow out...then I get there and sure enough my points have expired!...they expire EVERY June....So I get that...my points have expired...but then I ask a few questions about earning points, redeeming points, tracking points and the clerk had no clue!!!??? Our conversation went like this:
I asked: " Excuse me mam, how can I check my point balance at home?"
Clerk replied:..."you can't"....
then I asked: "how  do I know how many points I have?"
she answered "at the bottom of the receipt"..(then rolled her eyes as if I was bothering her)
I said  "well what if I don't buy something and I want to check my points"...
She says "You don't get points if you don't buy anything".
(..No Crud Lady! ...I'm asking how I can find out my points balance with previous purchases.)
Me: "I'm sorry I mean...is there a web site, a phone number where I can find out my point balance?"
Clerk: "I don't know...do you have a purchase?"
(Aye!, okay, I'm getting irritated...the store wasn't busy, nobody was waiting in a line behind me...she was just rude and annoyed that someone had a question about stupid Ulta rewards points...never mind I spend a poop load of money in that store every time I need make up)
Me: "Okay, can you just tell me how I go about redeeming my points"
Clerk: "You can redeem them for Salon services"
Me: "okay, but how do I do that"
Clerk:  "you look on the bottom of the receipt"
(i end up purchasing some make up brushes JUST to get my point balance...however I was thinking she could just run my points card and find out, but she said "I can't just do that"...not sure if she fully understood what I was asking her to do, but anyway...)
Clerk: "Your points expired, you can't get a salon service."
Me: "I know, but how many do I have right now and how do i redeem them... for future reference"
Clerk: "Go to Ulta.com, and it will answer all your questions...she said rudely"
(why, when I can ask an employee of Ulta???)
I HAD IT...I politely smiled, said "thanks"...and walked out...Ulta and their bogus rewards program (that ISN'T explained in ANY depth on their web site) will NEVER see me again....the points are kind of a lame deal, but I liked the selection make up...so I could totally "whatever" the point system, but BAD customer service...there's just no excuse!

Product Review: Lashgasm Mascara

Too Faced LashGasm Mascara
Color:black
Price: $21.00
Where to find: Ulta, TooFaced.com, Sephora
Does it work: YES, NO CLUMPS!
I LOVE this stuff, I'll NEVER switch EVER! I've tried everything from Falsies to good ol Mabeline to Dior Show...and NOTHING compares! This gets EVERY lash, separates and defines. It doesn't do a fabulous job of curling, but that's what an eyelash curler is for. Now a days, your lashes make the eyes...you need this!!!! Also, it's not super hard to get off with a good make up remover cloth.

Movie Review: The Change Up

Movie:  The Change Up
Overall score: 1-10:  1
Was the movie long?: about a 1/2 way through I left, but it was long enough to piss me off
Was the theatre packed?: no, about 20 people
Can a woman sit through it?: I couldn't sit through it...refused to
Can a man sit through it?: Yea, probably one of those Lifetime Bachelor kind of guys....you know the one's who think the "F" word is the ONLY word in the dictionary...IF they ever read a dictionary....or a book
Can my kids sit through it?: No, and in fact...they cuss repeatedly around little kids in this movie and make fun of kids with Down Syndrome as well (but hey, all for a good laugh right???)
Good for a Date night?: Not if you want a second date...
Good for a Girl's night?: NO, aside from it being wildly inappropriate...it's just not funny...
Good for a family night?: Not...totally not
romance 1-10: ZERO, in fact a quote that would best describe how romantic this movie is: When the guys talk about "The Cancer List"...A list "all men have" of top 3 women they would bang if his wife died of cancer tomorrow.
action 1-10: 1, if you count when Mitch sticks his thumb up an old lady's butt
funny 1-10: 1 ..I'm usually okay with stupid humor, can handle boobs, sex and cussing...but the "F" word does not make a line funny...nor does it make a movie funny.
scary 1-10: 10, it's scary someone spent money to make this movie, sad I wanted to go see this movie, and REALLY scary some people are dumb enough to actually like this movie.
suspense 1-10: 0
appropriate ?: Nope...I walked out...and my husband didn't argue doing the same. (and it wasn't a "my wife will get mad if I don't leave" kinda move...he wasn't just offended..he was bored...
Best Part of the Movie: walking out of it...
Worst Part of the Movie: When it started and I decided to stay....just to give it a chance
Notable Quote: "I gotta cool it on the Thai food"
Should I wait to rent?: No...wouldn't  spend a $1.00 for it with Red Box
Overall: So my my husband and I went to go see the change up...in what was a much anticipated outing since I've been home sick for what seems like forever. I've went ahead and reviewed it...well, what I saw of it...I walked out 1/2 way through it and asked for a refund. I NEVER do this. (It's MY fault if I go see a crappy movie, not the theatre's...) but i just couldn't contribute to the box office earnings of this movie. It wasn't funny, wasn't well made, wasn't well written, and wasn't entertaining. I left offended and irritated. The main characters cuss around at little kids the entire time. Every other word is Ef this and Ef that...I don't even think there was any real dialogue besides what you see on the previews. I was a fan of "Knocked Up"..and thought this movie might be kinda like it...I was wrong.

I found it at...

Top 10 Stupid Things this Week

10. The Pajama jean! We know this is just ridiculous! If you can't leave the house without leaving your pajamas at home...you have a a huge problem. You are now even too LAZY to get dressed.

9. Mothers who push their daughters to do things they didn't succeed at or were not able to do as a child. Note: If your kid is screaming every time you take her to gymnastics class...she probably doesn't want to be a gymnast...if she hates dressing up...she probably doesn't want to do pageants....There's a good chance she'll resent you later in life for you making her your personal barbie doll. Stop living through your children! Take a Zumba class and buy a Latte...let your kid be a kid and do pointless things like make mud pies and watch Yo Gabba Gabba!

8. Tablet dependency. EVERYONE is taking their i Pad, their Playbook their...whatever EVERYWHERE. Do you need your i pad at dinner???...do you need it in the restroom. (yes, I saw someone take their tablet into the restroom)...Leave it at home! it's fine at Starbucks, fine for work, fine for school, great on planes...but you don't need to take it EVERYWHERE...are you that lonely???

7.Teen movies with 28 year old actors playing the part of a 15 year old. When a 9th grader has a five o' clock shadow or noticeable stretch marks...it's a good idea to re-cast.

6. Way too trendy names for kids. Its great to want something interesting and different, but naming your kids stuff like Apple Bella Stuart...is ridiculous. I have a friend who told me her sister wants to name her son "Moon Vine Poolah Watson. "???? (Lacey gave me permission to write that by the way)...I am NOT joking...her sister wants to NAME her offspring this!!!...what ever happened to Bryan's, Zoeys or Hannah's...I like interesting cool names that aren't the EVERYDAY name...but Moon Vine Poolah??????

5. Celeb gossip magazines contradicting themselves....One day Jessica Simpson is pregnant the next week, she needs to diet, the next week she's having twins, the next week she needs to loose 20lbs before the wedding. Then the week after that... it's about how she lost 10lbs the healthy way and looks great...only for the next weeks cover to read...her secret battle with bulimia...after about a month...she's right back to being pregnant again.

4. Pointy cat claw nails! This just looks weird. I don't care if Beyonce and Katy Perry are doing it...looks dated and silly.

3. Shows saying dumb things like: THE episode you've all been waiting to watch....then the episode leaves you in pretty much the same spot you were in 3 episodes ago. Like: (hate to say it cause I LOVE this show) but Pretty Little Liars. It's been like 3 years and we still don't know who "A" is...and we aren't any closer to ever finding out! BY THE WAY...what DOES happen when we find out who "A" is...??? Is the show over???..well, then we all know we won't be close to finding out until the show gets it's pink slip...and by then??? who will still be watching to find out?

2. The million of singing competition shows out right now. I don't even know what I'm watching anymore...The Voice, American Idol, X factor???..America's got Talent???...do I vote? do I not vote? Is the judge J Lo, Christina? Ellen???

1. All this talk about America's credit rating?!?..America has a fico score??? Like an 800 that's now a 650? Is America going to get turned down at the register, because their amex has been shut off due to overspending? The utilities being shut off at the white house next week???

These are this weeks...Stupid Things

Who will be the next Bachelor 0f 2012 ???

So now that Ashley's season is dunzzo...(thank goodness) and she's gone and rode off into the sunset with JP...(who by the way, now had all these "secrets"...according to all the gossip magazines)...Funny how everyone ends up having "secrets" on the show....and they're DUMB secrets like: "JP had an Ex Girlfriend who was beautiful and successful!"...um yea, most people do date other people before going on the show. I give it a week before a chick he hooked up with in college comes out of the wood works with a text message stating just how much JP is still in love with her, how he was this awful cheater...and how he's got some hidden temper or some outrageous accusation like he likes to kill puppy's or has a foot fetish. He may have even been an ex exotic dancer...who knows...but they'll come up with something to sell magazines until the next Bachelor is announced...
That's brings me to....Who should and should NOT be the new Bachelor. Well...I can tell you who NOT right off the bat: No RYAN, he reminds me a little too much of Jake with his whole :"good guy" act. No Ben, because he's just not interesting...besides, doesn't he have to go back to work as the Gieko Caveman anyway now that the seasons over?!? No Constantine, he's super annoying and is busy being Ben's Gieko stunt double. And DEFIANTLY NO BRAD! I heard rumors about this reticently. No really. Brad obviously has issues...deep ones. One of them being he's NOT attractive and he has the personality of a prune. That guy will live a sad and lonely life, because he just can't get over himself.
Now who SHOULD be the Bachelor?? I call Ames, and before everyone gives me this song and dance about his funny pants and his awkward personality....go back to the footage of "The Men Tell All"...and tell me he isn't a sweet guy. Tell me he didn't look just a little "Hotttie-Po-Tottie" in his blue polo..with his Prince Charming white teeth and his goofy gumby grin. He's got his crud together, is smarter than a 5th grader and is an all around good guy. My vote is for him...goofy n all. He'd be a guy you'd want to see get together with someone really sweet. I always say...A Good Bachelor is a guy you want to see end up with a good girl in the end. (unlike Brad...where I secretly hoped he got a major beezy pulled his rope so tight he's fall right off that 10ft pedestal he had himself on.
Okay, so some people are not big Ames fans, and the fact that he's on The Bachelor Pad is probably a flagger that he WONT be Mr. B the next season, but what about Mickey??? He was kinda handsome. He too seemed more normal than all the rag-a-muffins (sub par men) Ashley got this season. He might be an interesting Bachelor. He seems to kind of have an edgy side to him. With him, Maybe-JUST maybe for the first time we will have a Bachelor  that doesn't pull a "Mesnick" and cry. maybe he'll tell it like it is and not "pretend" to feel really bad when he lets complete weirdos go at the rose ceremonies. In fact, I think that's exactly what we need...a guy who will say "Unfortunately, you're too needy, you don't get along with any of the girls in the house...AND you're kind of a BE-Otch, so I'm letting you go....hope all goes well, hasta!"...that's what I'd like.
The only one LEFT, who would even somewhat be "passable" and I say this lightly...William. Now I know he roasted Ashley and said "mean" things, but the guy was ONLY doing what everyone SHOULD have been doing...AND the guy seems honest....truly HONEST. When it was the "Mean Tell All" I loved how he said the reason why all the guys were on the show was "because they couldn't get dates!"..AMEN! Yes, that's exactly why you're there. Everyone needs to stop with the yada yada of....how it was all about Ashley. Lets all be honest with ourselves. You could put 25 girls in a room with  Shia Lebouf and 18 of those girls probably wont REALLY be into him, much less want to marry him...and even though he has his pick of all 25....it's a two way street, BOTH people have to be into each other. Don't tell me that all of Ashley's suitors showed up and instantly HAD TO HAVE her bony little butt the minute they got out of the Limo. That's why it's BS when immediately EVERY guy starts off with "I'm here for Ashley" (roll my eyes, gag me with a spoon)..."I've been dreaming it was going to be Ashley"... (um hmmm, instead of Kim Kardashian or Meagan fox posters up in your bachelor pad next to your neon Tecate bar light...you had Ashley Hebert photo's pinned up)...Pah-leeze! Yes, she's cute and to some yes a "dream girl"...but GET REAL...Anyway,Whoever IS the Bachelor I don't ask much but: Be somewhat universally good looking , be honest, I don't want to hear how all you need is to love and be loved and I defiantly don't want to hear in the very first 20 minutes  of meeting 25 random chicks, about how you think your wife is standing in the very next room ...give it at least 2 cocktail ours before you starting picking out china patterns.

The type of friends you should *Value*

  1. If they don't feel like hanging out, they wont make up a lame excuse...they'll say it like it is. "I'm tired...and don't feel like it"...."I have not been able to spend enough time with my husband/boyfriend/kids"..."I have something else going on, I just can't make it". these are all REAL reasons. If a friend doesn't "over-elaborate" they are usually being honest...a friend apologizes multiple times, because they truly would love to be around you, but just can't muster up the time, energy or something truly came up. A FAKE response would be "I forgot I have this appointment with my foot doctor because you know I have that weird fungus...it's been bothering me again, and I'd really like to make it, but i just can't"..."I'm sorry, but we have this dinner we are going to with these really important people my husband works for, and i really should be there, because the last time there were one of these ,I didn't go, and I'm not sure what time it will be done so I don't think I can make it". Do you see the difference? when someone is being straight up with you, they give you simple reasons, not huge story lines. (well, unless they are just "over-sharring" type of people.) They're honest...however blunt it may seem...they mean the 100 "I'm sorry's"...Someone is usually as apologetic as many times as they try to apologize. also, REAL friends who want to hang out will "take a rain check"...express plans to hang out soon...or attempt to re-schedule.
  2. This goes hand in hand with #1. a friend who tells you like it is. A real friend will say you look good in a dress you KNOW you look good in. If you purchased this hot little Red Dress you had to work out 2 hours every day to fit into...and she tells you it's not flattering, she's jealous. If you're iffy about it, and she says she's iffy about it too...she's telling you the truth. your gut feeling is usually right...We girls usually just ask each other the "does it look good" question for confirmation. We want a complement. now if your are like "what do you think...I feel like it's not the best color on me"(and you really feel that way)...She'll probably agree. A GOOD friend wants you to go out and SHUT IT DOWN. ;)
  3. Someone you have things in common with....not that you both like to shop, you like the color pink, you like the same alcoholic beverage and Mexican food.... THESE things are ALL TOO COMMON...if this were the case ALL WOMEN would be BFFS! I'm talking substantial stuff...you both enjoy period flicks, your both into community service, you enjoy the same line of work, you are both into the outdoors, you both enjoy a sense of adventure, and ONE HUGE BFF GREEN LITE: YOU LIKE and DISLIKE the same people...(people who are a lot alike tend to get turned off by the same type of people)
  4. You don't have to be at some HUGE EVENT or some FIESTA like atmosphere in order to have fun. you can enjoy a cup of coffee together, you can go see a movie together or just plain sit and loose track of time talking on your couch/
  5. Someone who is self sacrificing. This one is IMPORTANT...if you want to go see "Kittens on Ice" and she (an avid Cat hater)..says "okay, but next time you OWE me one"...or if your in a jam, and she offers to help out even though it's a huge inconvenience to her. She's true blue!
  6. A good friend doesn't tell you what you WANT to hear...she'll tell you what you NEED to hear.
  7. Someone who is genuine tends to admit or at least allude to THEIR faults. (and not just with situations with you)...if she often says stuff like: "I was so mad at what my sister said, but I do tend to antagonize her a bit"..." He really knows how to piss me off, but I tend to push his buttons sometimes too" or "Well, you know how bratty I can be"...Genuine people are their own harshest critics.
  8. They won't let you walk all over them. A good friend doesn't mean a doormat. They will tell you if they disagree with you...or prefer to do something you might not like. It's HOW they communicate that to you. Example: "I'm thinking I might be allergic to "Kittens on Ice"...it's just not for me Cat Lady"... as apposed to "I DON'T want to see stupid "Kittens on Ice"...I'm over it, and you should be too...it's super kiddish...can't believe you STILL watch stuff like that"...the first phrase is playful and friendly...the second, attacking and an attempt to make a personal jab at your taste.
  9. They worry about you....and not just because they NEED something. It's 12pm and you two were supposed to get together at 9. She hasn't heard from you (not even a text)...so she's called your cell phone, your home phone, e mailed you, Facebooked  you and by 2am with no response is close to calling the cops. REAL friends WORRY about the other friends well being. If ANY female has gone missing for more than 24 hrs...there's a problem...and if someone shrugs their shoulders at a "no show" with no communication after a few hours...you can bet they wouldn't be part of any "search party" if something DID happen to you.
  10. This goes with number 9....aside from set plans, major events or set appointments where a true commitment has been made....there are NO EXPECTATIONS. If she says...I'll call you back in ten and doesn't call you back for an hour or two....it's no big deal...something must have come up. You invite her over for brunch, but cancels an hour before...you're friendship isn't in the shambles the next day. Sure you can be irritated...but you tell her, she explains herself an apology is exchanged, then your over it.  She doesn't expect you to answer your phone at 3am, because she found out Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson secretly got married...she'll appreciate the fact that you called her back when you got the first free moment you could the next day.

    Your Closet HATES you...

Because you DON'T clean it out....!!!!

A few posts back I has talked about how cleansing cleaning out your closet can be. It's important to know that it CAN be cleansing OR it can be stressful. Here are some suggestions to make it not only cleansing but FUN!
    • Make this a 2 Day EVENT...and start planning ahead..
    • Save up to go on a shopping spree RIGHT AFTER...this is the REWARD for getting through it. when I say shopping spree...I mean it. Have money READY to buy what you NEED and absolutely LOVE. You're going to do a different type of shopping than you've done before...a totally selfish and  indulgent kind...(you're not looking for the cheapest items (stop buying stuff because it's on sale just because it's on sale) AND REMEMBER you're not looking for anyone else but YOU)
    • Throw out ALL OLD wire hangers... get some nice hangers...one's with pant rails and spaghetti strap grooves...well rounded hangers that won't stretch holes into your shirts and blouses
    • Get canvas or cloth baskets: for storage
    • Throw away shoe Boxes
    • Get shoe racks if you don't have a built in.  (not that weird door shoe hangy thingy)...in fact (DON'T GET ANY HANGING STORAGE)....just looking at those things will make your stuff loose it's value. Do you buy your shoes from a cloth sak hanging in a department store??? No
    • Purge and DONATE. Go through an eliminate ALL things you have not worn in the last year...NO EXCEPTIONS! I tend to keep stuff, because when I bought it...I paid a lot for it....or it's designer and I'll feel like it's a waste. P.S. it IS a waste of your time and your closet space...get over it, THROW IT OUT HOARDER! ;)
    • Put similar items together....coats by jackets by sweaters by dresses, Long sleeve blouses next to 3/4 sleeve next to short sleeve next to tanks next to halters ,shorts next to skirts.
    • Combine colors with colors (ROYGBIF the heck outa' your closet)
    • keep all BASICS in the same storage area. (camis, under shirts, shelf bras, tights, leggings, spanx)
    • ALL JEANS should be folded....NEVER HUNG
    • ALL sweaters that can loose their shape....should be folded NEVER HUNG
    • Shoes should be organized by color and occasion
    • Keep a note pad to write down things you NEED: A new scarf, a new black handbag, a new basic pair of black pumps.
    • Throw out stuff that does not fit anymore (I mean it)
    • Don't have anything in your closet that doesn't BELONG in a clothing closet. (not your kids toys, old furniture parts, dogs beds, Christmas decor, boxes of anything that is not clothing or accessories.
    • When in doubt, throw it out
    • Empty your entire closet out when you've established what you're going to keep and not keep...then CLEAN....after that spray it with an air freshener and a linen freshener.
    • Launder things that have been sitting that you decide to keep....take things to the dry cleaner that need a good press.
    • Throw out any and every shoe that looks like an animal has attacked it.
    • when you're all good and organized spray all your stuff (shoes included) with a room or linen spritz...your stuff will all smell fresh and ready to wear.
Here are some items you can pick up to help get your closet there:

    Slatkin and Co, room spritz
